Swirls and Ruffles

I've been working some more on my style.
And I LOVE drawing dresses.

These dresses above and below are some of my favorites.
I can almost feel myself falling. ;)

And I looooove this one below. The details in it were really fun to draw.
And plus her big hair pretty amazing. heh heh
And that's all for now!
Be expecting more pictures later. :)

Changing it Up

...but just a little bit ;)

Lately, I've been on what I'm calling an "artist's streak". I've been trying to teach myself new styles and I'm making myself CHOOSE one. Once and for all. Because, looking back on pretty much all of my art, everything looks so different. People who look at them may not even know they were made from the same artist. So I decided to start working on style a little bit.

And I think I've found it.

"Style" isn't about trying too hard. "Style" is about what makes you feel comfortable. Your "style" is what comes easily to you. My new art style just really flows from my pencil/brand new awesome-possum pens I bought yesterday that I'm obsessed with.

And style doesn't necessarily mean art or clothing. Style can be anything from how you put your makeup on to what your favorite color is. Style isn't just a term for who's cool or not.

It's who you are.

It's you.

My "style" in art is all about expressions, cute-ness, femininity (because I really just CAN'T draw guys. I'm working on that next...), curves, and bright colors.
My "style" in clothing is all about pretty colors and comfy-ness. I will not wear skinny jeans if they're uncomfortable and I refuse to wear converse because they make my feet feel weird. Don't ask why. I love wearing cardigans and my brown slip-on shoes that go on and off with ease (and that look very snazzy with socks on underneath.)

I'm not necessarily what you call "fashion-forward" but I look like me! I mean, if I were to go walking down the street in some amazing outfit that, say, my sister was wearing, I would look pretty, but I wouldn't look like me. And I don't want that.

And so I kept that in mind as I started to draw.

The picture on the left is a sort of self-portrait of me.

Notice I'm wearing a slightly baggy shirt (they're just so cute. I don't know why. And talk about comfy...) and the tank-top underneath it is supposed to be a bright blue (at least in my head). I looooove bright colored tanks. They just make any outfit so much better.
And do you like my socks?

I have some really amazing ones that have little bears faces on them. I just want to wear them 24/7, but now they're starting to fade :(

(pardon the date on the picture here. I forgot to edit that off on gimp. )

I've also found, that I LOVE drawing dresses. And hair.

You see, I got these amazing-awesome-sauce pens at Michaels yesterday (they should be amazing. They were $25!) and I'm already totally obsessed with them.
There are five different shades of grey, and three more pens that are different sizes.

And they're just so perfect.

I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I was playing around with them in the store (you know how they have those little pads of paper for you to sample stuff on? Well I like was creating all these pictures on it and was smiling and humming to some random song like a mad person. I bet some of the people passing by thought I was a bit strange... but aren't all artists? lol!)

The simplicity of this dress really awes me. Soooo pwettyyyyy.

I mean, come on, look at the ruffles.

Cute-ness.
And check. This. Out.

Yes I do believe I want her hair.

Badly much so.

BUT

my hair isn't too bad either. I've been curling it for the past few weeks, and I find that it works soooo much better than straightening it. And it's a more feminine look too I think. For me I mean.
I sometimes envy the girls who have gorgeous, sleek hair that shines when it whips around all cool looking.
But I'm still happy with mine anyways.
 :D

By far this is probably one of my favorites right now.

Her DRESS!

I was pretty excited when I drew this. Which was last night. Which was kind of a bad idea. Because I couldn't go to sleep after that. haha!

That's what happens to me. I want to draw at night and then I draw something I really like and I can't stop thinking about it and I want to draw more but it's bedtime (meaning midnight... I need to go to bed earlier) and I have to get up in the morning.

But it's always worth it.

:D

So here's my big ole' post about style and stuff.

Because I'm just so "inspirational".

That's sarcasm by the way.

But anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do.

Obsessions of a Crazy Girl {1}

I'm the type of girl that gets something stuck in her head, and just can't seem to get it out until she does/or says it.
It's a curse really.
And it's slowly driving my mom to insanity, I do believe.
Last year, I was totally obsessed with Photography. So I got an awesome camera.
The time before that, the guitar. So my dad borrowed a guitar from a friend.
The time before THAT I was obsessed with wattpad.com. Even though I'm really not even a writer. I got an account and was on it like every second of the day.
My list of obsessions goes on and on.
Where has my camera, guitar, and wattpad account gone? Well, my camera is sitting on my desk. The guitar was given back to the owner, and my wattpad account has been dead for some time now with multiple stories and only half finished chapters on it.
All these obsessions have one thing in common: they were REALLY short lived. It's not to say I don't enjoy photography, music, or writing anymore. But I'm not dreaming of it all day long.
But I've always been obsessed with one thing. At least since I was 9 years old.
Art.
And this is why I know I want to be an artist one day.
I know I'm an artist, because I've  been obsessed with it for so long. It may have started when I wanted to be a caricaturist when I was little. (which, by the way, I no longer plan to be. That ship has sailed... far far way.) Now I'm still drawing, and I'm still obsessed with the feeling of contentment that settles over me when I get a pencil in one hand, and my amazing sketchbook in the other.
So.
I guess it's safe to assume you are expecting more artwork from me, now that I've said all that?
If you do, than you're are very correct.
CAUTION: You must shield your eyes from the awesomeness that is before you. Peeta Mellark is just too amazing to look at sometimes.

 Oh Peeta. Marry me?

Run Peeta! RUNNN!!!!  (this is a picture from the trailer. I think this is the cornucopia scene)

This is probably my favorite scene in the book! So funny :)

Heehee...

Yum. Hello Alex Pettyfer. (his british accent is also delicious. Trust me. It's true.)

This is my digital Bob Ross painting!!!! It was SO much fun to make.

This is a picture I did for my good friend Becca :) Fang (from Maximum Ride) and Hawk (an oc of ours). They're so cool. mwahahhaa! ;)
And I also decided to do a cool bob ross background. Cool no?

And this is a before and after picture of an old drawing you've already seen. Amazing difference. This is what most of my pictures look like before I start editing them on Gimp 2.6. I wish I had a screen camera so that I could make a video of my drawing for y'all to watch.

This is my Deviantart ID. It's just so CUTE!

And I think that's about it for now. I have more upcoming pictures (or course), and perhaps I'll be able to come up with a tutorial video? I dunno. We'll see.

Anyways. If anybody has any requests, just comment and I'll be sure to get started on it! I'll post it as soon as I finish it. Remember, it's totally free! :)

Hello Again!

I've been such a bad girl. I haven't posted in about-- forever?

Well I've been busy, so I guess I have an excuse.

Recently on deviantart, I've been taking in more requests and I'm so excited! I've created quite a couple pieces that I really really like, and I think I might use one to use for a new blog design. :)

This was a request from my good friend, Jessica. We both have Hunger Games obsessions. If you haven't read the books-- read them! They're awesome-azing. :D

Yes. I love this one. It's currently one of my favorites. This one was sent in from a girl on deviantart. Once again, I love the Hunger Games!
The fire on their costumes made me really nervous at first. I had absolutely no idea how to draw it. Turns out, with a little help from my best friend Gimp 2.6, that it's pretty easy-- and fun! I think it turned out pretty nicely. What do you think???
This was sent in from a girl on deviantart too. It's supposed to be GlaDOS and Wheatley from Portal/Portal 2 which I've never heard of in my life until now. I think it's a video game. But I still like the picture. The background turned out pretty cool too, even if it is simple.

I also ended up drawing a lot of picture for my friend Becca for Christmas. Most of them are our characters from a book we're writing. And have been writing since about forever. It's a major part of our friendship ;)

This is me and her <3

This is one of her characters; Hawk. Yup. He has wings.

Mwahahaha! Doesn't this look epic? My character Megan is on the left, Becca's character Wynn is in the middle, and our friend Julia's character is on the right. :)

And this is a picture of the old version of our book. We've rewritten it a couple times, changing a few things. More like a lot.
And that would be why we're still writing it. haha!

And last but not least, I have a couple pictures that I made yesterday for fun. I was bored... and was supposed to be doing school. But my need to draw has just been growing lately. I love art. I love the feeling of drawing.

I think I'm going to use the panda picture for the design.

Whatcha think??
