It's a Scary Sort of Day

So, today, the 31st of October, was Halloween. At the moment I'm stuffed with candy and feeling a little bit of that guilty, sugar overdose ;) but Halloween isn't all candy, I guess. I enjoy the scary stories and movies, plus the awesome decorations that are put up all over the neighborhood.
What do you enjoy about it?

*the above pictures are halloween inspired doodles I drew this morning. you like?*

I hope you had a great Monday and that the trick or treaters didn't break down your door! ;)

Pixie Dust is My Happy Thought

So, as you can see, I've changed both the design and name of my blog. What do you think? Do you like the name better?

And I'm totally in love with the sidebar header. I drew it myself and colored it in yesterday. I confess I use picnik.com for all of my artwork now. It works pretty well and after a while I've gotten used to using my mouse to color in the lines. It was almost like learning to write all over again. :)

and since I don't really have much else to say, I'll just post up a couple recent drawings of mine.

^ Its Flynn!!! He makes my heart melt ;) ^

Have a great wednesday!

Living in Black and White

Today I had piano lessons. After a rather successful 45 minutes of Bach and Mozart {I was terrified I was going to play like a dying monkey today. I hardly practiced all week. *shakes head* I'm so lazy}, I went outside to the car to wait for my sister to finish her lesson.
It was a GORGEOUS day today.
As in, the sun was warm and it there was a mild wind.
heaven.
So, after a quick chapter in my lit. book, I quickly got out my darling Tink and began experimenting with the B&W setting.
<3

Now keep in mind all of these are completely unedited.
I'm a little proud of them. :)
Oh gosh, I love you Tink.
Isn't black and white just so inspiring? Color pictures are amazing too, but sometimes black and white just makes me smile...

Ahhh, black and white. How I love you.

Have a great week y'all.

Neverland Mermaid

Today, I thought I'd do a post on my art.
mhmm, I'm an artist.

I got interested in drawing when I was around nine. I remember drawing this one picture, and when I was done I felt proud of it. Really really proud. I still have the picture upstairs in my bedroom.
It makes my smile every time I look at it.
Obviously it wasn't very good since I was only nine years old, but it was the best that I had ever done at my age. And I have to admit I still love that picture. It was what made me fall in love with art.
I've kept almost every picture I've drawn since then in a big box. I sometimes like to look through it and admire them-- the old and the new.

\/And I've recently come across this one\/ which I drew at the beginning of the year... I think. I may be good about keeping my pictures but I'm terrible at keeping track of the dates.
Anyways, here are some pictures I took that have been sitting idly in my picture file labeled "artwork".
She's supposed to be a mermaid, even though you can't see her tail-- perhaps she's a mermaid from Neverland?
:D

(oh, and sorry about the picture quality. It was really late at night when I drew this and this was before I got my darling Nikon Coolpix :)

What do you think?

In Which I Go on a Walk

Today was a perfect, crisp fall day. When I stepped outside the smell of freshly mowed grass surrounded me, the sun shown down on my face, and with the help of the wind and shade, I found the temperature to be absolutely perfect.Clutching my new Nikon Coolpix p90 close to my person, I started on my walk.

It was a happy moment.

My camera is now my little baby, one which I wish I could bring everywhere with me. It was so worth the scrimping and saving.

I need a name for her, though. I was thinking something like Celeste {perhaps one of the prettiest names ever. It's my favorite right now.}. Or maybe Destiny {because we were SO destined for each other. *cheesy grin*}. Thoughts?
:)

Anyways, my walk was spent trying to find fall colors and leaves and such. Care to take a peek?

On the way home as I was searching through my pictures, I passed a little flower bush... and I couldn't resist.

Yes, it's a rather spring-ish ending to a fall post. But, the flowers were just too gorgeous.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed.
:)

Here it is

Here it is.
My very first post on my brand new blog, Happy thoughts.
Why Happy Thoughts you ask?
Well, 1) it is part of a quote from Peter Pan which is on of the most amazing Disney movies ever, and 2) it describes me very well.
This blog is going to be about my everyday life-- the good, the bad, the norm, the strange. It will also contain my artwork and some photography. And what's a blog without descriptive words and stories?
So, hello blogger world. It's nice to meet you
